Creatively Celebrating God's Creation

Tina Klein, 46-yr. old founder of Apostcalota Artworks, has always been inspired to think outside the box when it comes to her artistic talents. From photography, to welding/metal art, to painting with acrylics, Paul -husband of 26 years- has always been supportive of Tina’s work. In 1990, when her artistic journey began, Paul was serving his country in Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm. She reflects that “artwork was a way to focus my mind on something else. I’ve been going full steam ever since.”

While stationed in Germany in 1994, Tina began dabbling in ceramics. Having been moved by the Army to Oregon in 1999, she then took a pottery class. “I enjoy working with clay, the fluid movement of it. And like clay, glass has a movement to it while in the kiln.” By slumping glass, Tina takes what others see as ordinary and creates one-of-a-kind pieces of art. “Even the same types of glass take on a unique movement of their own once inside the kiln.” Tina’s blend of slumped glass and unique metal creations is something not found among other crafters. Certainly, Tina will continue to push at the boundaries of what artists think can or can’t be done in the world of crafts, so keep an eye out to see what’s next!
