Hummingbird by Stephen Jarrell Williams

Hummingbird
darting
from bloom to bloom,
wings a blur
in a gleam of sunlight,
reminding me of the years
sailing by…
splashes of color,
sweet voices of children,
smile of my wife
long ago,
like the flight of a hummingbird…
touched.

Stephen Jarrell Williams has been called “The Poet of Doom,” “A Voice in the Wilderness,” and “A Minstrel for Love.” He was born in Fort Belvoir, Virginia.  His parents are native Texans.  He has lived most of his life in California.
